A monograph dedicated to the work of the Chilean painter, a major figure in the twentieth-century Surrealist movement. The work of Roberto Sebastián Antonio Matta Echaurren (1911–2002) represents a synthesis of European, American, and Latin American cultures. He was an early mentor to several Abstract Expressionists.
