Biography

Naum Medovoy (b. 1937) is a painter and cinematographer whose work blends both mediums to form intensely personal, photo-documentary collage paintings—often about sacrifices made in the name of war. Medovoy received his MFA from New York University in 1982, and has held solo exhibitions at Salamatina Gallery, New York (2012, 2013); Museum of Russian Art, Jersey City, New Jersey (2011); and The National Arts Club, New York (2007, 2009). His work is held in the public collections of MoMA, New York; Multimedia Art Museum, Moscow; and Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center, Moscow.
